🏁 5. Driving Focus & What to Expect in Lessons
The primary goal of your lessons is to help you become a safe and confident driver, not just to pass the test. The driving test is part of the journey, but your focus should always be on learning essential driving skills that will serve you well beyond the test day.
What to Expect in Your Lessons:
-
Building Confidence: Each lesson will be tailored to your current skills and comfort level. We’ll work at your pace to gradually build confidence behind the wheel.
-
Practical Skills: You’ll learn how to handle a variety of road situations, from basic manoeuvres to complex city driving and motorway skills. This includes learning how to park, control the car in different conditions, use mirrors and signals effectively, and more.
-
Safe Driving Habits: We’ll focus on developing habits that make you a safe, considerate driver, like maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, anticipating potential hazards, and making sound decisions in complex driving environments.
-
Driving in Various Conditions: Lessons will also cover driving in different weather conditions, night driving, and dealing with diverse traffic scenarios. The goal is to ensure you’re comfortable and safe in all types of driving situations.
-
Review and Reflection: At the end of each lesson, we’ll review what you’ve learned and discuss your progress. This will help identify areas for improvement, and you’ll leave each session with a better understanding of what you need to work on next.

Your Theory Test is an important part of your learning journey. Here’s how I’ll support you:

20 Years Of Experience in Driver Training
I started out my driver training career on London buses! I was a classroom based trainer and assessor before I become an instructor out on the road.
I’m proud that I’ve passed many driving tests in my career, including car (of course!), bus and lorries. I have also been lucky enough to have passed an advanced driving test and have several driving and teaching related qualifications.
My Mission
I want you to be the safest driver you can be! the tests aren’t the end goal, they are part of the journey. You’ll learn everything you will need in order to be a safe (and great) driver!
My Vision
I’d love our roads to be some of the safest roads in the world. this starts with you! Just being able to drive a car is great, but I want people I help to learn to drive to be safe drivers. I want you to be great at driving! I don’t want your car to be an extension of your feet, I want the car to be an extension of you! Too many people get hurt or killed on out road every year, and I want this statistic to improve.
